 GRAND FORKS COUNTY UPDATED MOWING ORDINANCE

The North Dakota Century Code 63-05 dictates it is the duty of landowners or operators with land adjoining regularly traveled township roads to cut all weeds and grasses.  The Grand Forks County Weed Control Board has designated that a swath is mowed to stubble height and of equal to or greater than width of 14 feet (if roadside allows).  The cutting shall be completed no later than July 1^st in the summer and October 1^st in the fall.  Each parcel in failure to comply with the mowing ordinance will result in a $600 per ½ mile or a $300 per Farmstead (¼ mile) mowing assessment added to the ensuing year tax roll.   Separate assessments may be imposed for either one or both mowing dates if not completed by the landowner or someone on their behalf by the dates determined by the ordinance.
