Grand Forks County, ND
Home MenuSpring Load Limits / Frost Law
Seasonal load restrictions are placed on most of the County roads during the spring thaw. Load restrictions are used to reduce damage to roadways caused by heavy loads at the time of year when the roadways are most vulnerable. The County uses the same guidelines and timeframes as the NDDOT. When the NDDOT starts restrictions in the Grand Forks County region the County starts as well, when the NDDOT removes restrictions the County removes their restrictions. The County shall notify the public via the County website, social media and by physically placing signs at major intersections.
Effective February 18, 2025 the County axle and gross weight schedule shall follow the NDDOT’s schedule.
See the County map for detailed restriction information. See the NDDOT website for more process information.
