The Grand Forks Air Force Base (AFB) Compatible Use Study (CUS) is a collaborative planning effort sponsored by Grand Forks County, in partnership with the Cities of Grand Forks and Emerado, surrounding townships, Grand Forks AFB, Grand Sky UAS Business Park, and other local and regional partners. Primary funding for this study was obtained through a U.S. Department of War Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) installation readiness program grant.* The study is designed to address compatibility between military operations and surrounding communities by examining land use, infrastructure, environmental, and economic factors that may affect both the installation and the region.

As the CUS progresses, this website will serve as the primary hub for project information, including study updates, public meeting announcements, and draft materials released for review. Community members and stakeholders are encouraged to stay informed and participate throughout the process.

Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee will meet a minimum of three times over the course of the study. They will meet to kick off the project, to review the study's draft, and to receive a presentation on the final document. The Advisory Committee is comprised of local government leaders who will set project expectations, review preliminary findings and offer feedback, and review the final study and the consultant's recommendations for next steps in relation to the findings. The AC is not involved in the day-to-day research and development of the study. The Advisory Committee members are:
