Winter Storms

Winter storms affect us every year. Winter storms can range anywhere from moderate snow to a multi day blizzard. Winter storms can bring extreme cold, mass amounts of snow, and icy road ways. The biggest impact with winter storms is the cascading impacts. If the roads are impassible and power goes down the electric companies can't get out to repair the damage. This can lead to an extended period with out electricity and heat. From there the effects get worse at time goes on with out repairs. 

Winter Storm Quick tips

  • Don't go out unless absolutely necessary
  • Have extra blankets on hand
  • Be prepared by getting your home winter ready in the early fall
  • Be prepared for possible power outages
  • Watch for signs of frostbite and hypothermia
  • Avoid over exertion when shoveling
